The pupil – mentor group started their journey through a meeting conducted inside the principal boardroom. They discussed the criteria in selecting the pupils per team. The mentors suggested specific topics for each category and agreed to pursue the quest on Organic Farming. The mentors filled –out and submitted the official online forms for DPSA Quest 2011. After which, the teacher-coaches gathered together with their pupils that led to a clear orientation of DPSA Quest mechanics. This was immediately followed by systematic planning of the places to be visited and individuals to be interviewed. The delegation of task was given to each member. In addition, formal letters were given to our respondents for data gathering.
The team went to Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA), Pili, Camarines Sur. They registered and participated in the 4th Bicol Organic Food Conference and Farmers Festival. They gathered myriad information through interview from different individuals that were practicing organic farming in their community. They had listened to the speech of Usec. Jeffrey A. Pacturan, Department of Agrarian Reform. They used their gadgets to secure that every important detail were properly documented. The team went to a private farm in Pamplona, Camarines Sur. They had interviewed the owner of the Arrow Meat Shop and Sinulog Grill which was using organic farming. They also had a chance to meet the owner of Green Earth Café. This cafe offered vegetarian food from organic farming here in Naga City. They visited the farm of their school principal that advocates organic farming. Moreover, they had surf the net, books, magazines and other educational materials to further enrich their narrative.
After the data was collected, the pupils and their mentors started to write the story. Some of the pupils worked on photos and video editing. The other members were busy in uploading and developing the blogsite while others were reviewing and editing the content of the story. Then finally, the whole story was completed.
